(Simple Case)


3 airlines (AA, NW & UA) with cycle times as reflected in the chart below:

All 3 airlines use 757 aircraft with a 24 fc / 260 yc configuration

     AA has a flight that serves candy to all YC passengers
        During Cycle 3 they serve GHIRADELLI  and on Cycle 4 they serve MILKY WAY

    NW has a flight that serves candy to all YC passengers
        During Cycle 2 they serve GHIRADELLI  

    UA has a flight that serves candy to all YC passengers
        During Cycle 1 they serve GHIRADELLI 

Both GHIRADELLI and MILKY WAY candy comes packed 96 to the case and are bought from a local vendor "Tasty" (Code TST)

For each flight 2.71 cases of each type of candy is needed (260 passengers / 96 pieces)

On March 28th an AMS Buyer's List is generated using the form below:

AMS will provide a list of items needed for Vendor "TST" for all airlines and their cycles that fall between March 29th and April 4th (7-day window).  This window can be modified to meet the Buyer's requirements.

The chart below shows that this list will capture all needs for AA Cycle 3 for 3 days, AA Cycle 4 for 4 days, NW Cycle 2 for 7 days, and UA Cycle 1 for 7 days: 

The Buyer's List below shows 2 items are needed--CANDY, MILKY WAY  and CANDY GHIRADELLI.

The calculations should be:

                     GHIRADELLI  8.12 cases (780 passengers / 96 pieces)  3 - 757 aircraft

    Mar 31:   MILKY WAY - NONE  Not on any flights

Take a closer look.

Record one is MILKY WAY and record two is GHIRADELLI

Now, all that is left to do is to take an inventory of your candy and create a Purchase Order.

Click on the "PO" button on the Buyer's List Choices (above) and adjust the "Ordered" field.  Then, click "Continue >>" and a Purchase Order is created (below):

Although this was a simple case, AMS will accurately calculate for all situations

       The AA flight above flies 7-days a week.                If it only flies 1 or 2 days, then...
                           ...AMS would show the change in Candy needs only on those days.
